Reference: FR-WC Anti-Litter Council purchases Cargo Nets for Pick-Up Trucks and Trailers to be provided to Town and County residents to use while traveling to Bentonville Transfer Station and Convenience Centers.
The FR-WC Anti-Litter Council now have cargo nets in three sizes for large and small pick-up trucks and utility trailers to be given away to Town and County residents at no cost. The nets can be picked up at the Warren County Planning Department in Suite 400 in the Warren County Government Center during office hours between 9:00AM and 5:00PM.
Warren County Code Section §102 requires that all loads be covered and safely secured on vehicles traveling on State roads within the County and if not may subject the driver to fine of $2,500 either/or up to 12 months in jail. The intention of the cargo net program is to mitigate problems with trash, litter and rubbish blowing from vehicles and littering our roadways and scenic byways.
These contributions are made possible through a non-competitive grant from the Office of Environmental Education of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, which promotes educational opportunities for the recycling, reusing, and reducing of litter and waste products in our everyday lives.
The Front Royal – Warren County Anti-Litter Council’s Mission is: “To educate, motivate and participate in the prevention of litter and to assist the citizens of Front Royal and Warren County to become better stewards of our environment.”
