Skyline High School Environmental Science, Ecology and Green Team with moderator Kara Lewallen and ALC President, Matt Wendling posing with check for $1,500 for Bags & Books for Kindergartener’s project
The FR-WC ALC recently contributed funding to assist the students at Skyline High School’s Green Team and adviser Kara Lewallen in purchasing lunch bags and books that promote benefits of using organic materials that can be reused, the concepts of “fair trade” and recycling/disposal of plastics and non-organic waste. The funds will allow them to purchase the books and bags in order to sell them as a combo to “Buy One, Give One”. For the cost of $35 a book and bag will then be donated to a kindergartner. Any funds raised will be put toward the purchase of additional bags and books, recycling bins for Town and County walking trails, a wildlife/pollinator garden at the high school, and a community Earth Day celebration to be held April 27th at Skyline High School.
